David Stanning: a Partner at Gerrards Cross law firm B P Collins for nearly thirty years is exhibiting his photographs for the first time, having been a keen amateur photographer for many years. David who lives in Seer Green with his wife Glyn says “I was pleased at the reaction to my photographs when they were exhibited earlier this year and am hoping that the charities will benefit from this latest airing”.

With sporting interests now largely reduced to walking (in the mountains when possible) and occasional golf, David's star sign of Taurus ensures a continuing interest in cooking and wine, as well as defending his garden against a lively dog.

Julian Stanning: David’s brother has pursued a career in agribusiness which has taken the family to live in Africa,Asia and the Pacific. Together with his wife, Theo, they have undertaken diverse journeys: up mountains, down rivers and exploring coast lines – in pursuit of flora and fauna.  Both have taken thousands of photographs over the years and have donated some of their most recent work to the exhibition.

Theo Stanning: is a landscape architect with a passion for plants. Born in Aberdeen, she has subsequently travelled widely, enjoying the landscapes, the flora, the wildlife and the people. She is married to Julian and they have three children and three grandchildren.

Tim Stanning: David’s older brother has been working for international organisations in the former Yugoslavia for the past 10 years and his photographs were all taken in that area.  Now based in Croatia, he enjoys walking in his spare time.

Jilli Stanning: the youngest of the siblings has also been a keen amateur photographer for some time, she is an occupational therapist living in the New Forest area where she has ample opportunity to walk with her dogs. Jilli also enjoys sailing.

James Nash: the oldest of David’s stepsons, has taken the hobby of photography one step further and now produces contemporary work having processed his photographs on a computer.  James, who has a keen interest in science and natural history, is a Film Location Assistant for Bentley Productions.

Glyn Stanning: David’s wife who organised the original exhibition in May, is repeating the family exhibition event having exhibited jointly with her mother Brenda Jeanes, in the mid seventies.  Glyn uses acrylics and although having been a member of both the Buckinghamshire Art Society and Misbourne Art Society in the 1980’s, she had not put brush to canvas for some years until she was given new paints and canvasses last year.

Brenda Jeanes: (1918-2000) had painted most of her life as a hobby. Having won a national amateur abstract painting competition in 1967 she continued to paint, mainly in watercolour, for many years.  Also a member of both Bucks and Misbourne Art Societies, Brenda, had lived in Gerrards Cross since before the war. She leaves a legacy of many interesting paintings five of which are included in the show.
